Kumiko had kept her innocence and naivety when dealing with the world in a sense that she is still pure w/ childlike imagination after spending most of her time with her younger siblings. Having been loved by her parents at such a young age and living in the better end of things, she imagines life to always have a happy ending for everyone at the end of the day. Her maternal instincts do have a tendency to come out as she just wants to take care of the people she becomes fond of (esp her fellow council members). However, despite always taking care of others and wanting to help them along, she often doesn't think much for herself resulting in her being indecisive, during student council meetings she would always fluster back and forth between choices needing to be made.

Background: 

Kumiko's parents wanted a big happy family, they were loving and doting to their children at a young age and still are even now. Her father was an architect with a fairly large reputation and would travel overseas often to work with clients months at a time, always sending home gifts to his children from around the world. Around the time she started middle school, her mother promoted and was sent on important business trips collaborating with other companies in Asia. Due to their parent's overlapping absence, Kumiko took up the maternal role in the house for her three younger siblings; she cooked, cleaned, and played with them and sometimes the next-door neighbor's daughter would come over to join them as well. Having more time with her younger siblings than kids her own age, she kept her childlike innocence and views the world through rose-colored glasses still. 

Kumiko's love for fashion started once she entered high school as a way to try and connect with kids her own age and keep her from feeling less like an actual mom. Her family being financially well-off and secure allowed her to spend on her new found interest.
